Lovely black silk faille with debossed title and paste-down illustration on front cover. Guidebook to the Benedictine Monastery of San Nicolò l'Arena in Catania written by Francesco-di-Paola Bertucci in 1846. The monastery is a jewel of the late Sicilian Baroque, founded by a Cassinese (Benedictine) congregation in 1558. 120 annotated pages + 15 full page illustrations with description on facing pages. Text in Italian.
