The work has been comprised from the best editions. Catullus was Latin poet of the late Roman Republic whose expressions of love and hatred are generally considered the finest lyric poetry of ancient Rome. Tibullus was a notable Latin poet and writer of elegies, and Propertius was also a a Latin elegiac poet, but of the Augustan age, renowned for his four book of elegies 'Cynthia'. A very good or slightly better smoker's copy in 19th century 3/4 vellum and paper-covered boards. Some nicks and scuffs along the edges and a few in the middle of the boards. Later endpapers. Contemporary ownership signature on the title page. Internally clean and bright. A solid, clean copy in a rather worn, but appealing binding. Text in Latin.
