Marino è il maggiore rappresentante della poesia barocca in Italia identificata anche come marinismo. Si iniziò a rivalutare la sua figura a partire dal XIX secolo come recita la prefazione: "poeta troppo lodato ai suoi giorni, e troppo ancora dispregiato ai nostri da quegli stessi che si studiano di imitarlo". Copertina in brossura editoriale in discrete condizioni generali con piatti quasi staccati e dorso praticamente assente. Legatura lenta con rotture. Fioriture. First edition of this important study of the poet Giambattista Marino (1805-1897) written by Tommaso Vallauri (1805-1897). Marini is the main representative of the baroque poetry in Italy identified as marinism. The figure of the poet was rivalued from teh XIX century: "poeta troppo lodato ai suoi giorni, e troppo ancora dispregiato ai nostri da quegli stessi che si studiano di imitarlo". Editorial original cover in fair general conditions with plates almost detached and spine practically missing. Not solid binding with cracks. Foxings.
