Etchers include Flameng, Unger, Kuhn, Woernle, Monzies, Forberg. Sonnenleiter, Schonleber, and Krauskopf. Pages: clean, bright, tight, a.e.g., decorative eps, artwork frontis w/ captioned tissue guard; all leaves dampstained bottom crnr w/ mild waviness which does not affect artwork, front hinge cracked (intact), frontis tissue guard bottom crnr yapped (manufacturer's defect) so a bit tattered., 4 items laid in at end of Franz Defregger text have toned verso of following Breton artwork (does not show on artwork), in some instances, text has transferred through tissue guard to facing artwork. Exterior: sage silk, embossed rose/sage ornamentation front/spine, reverse/black artwork front, gilt titles front/spine; moderate shelfwear, extremities well worn, a few worn through areas on edges. Quite large, impressive, and beautiful. Solid, heavy. Certainly scarce, possibly rare. A wonderful gift for the connoisseur.
