Corrected 1914 Date On Title Page, One Of Five Doubleday Printings That Year (Not So Stated). ( 150 Copies Printed With The 1913 Date, But Trade Issue Suspended Until 1914 Due To A Printer's Strike.) First 1914 Issue Was Gathered In Eights; Second Issue Gathered In Sixteens (As Is This Copy). [Later Issues, In Sixteens, All With 1914 Date On Title Page, Have A Double Rule Border Around The Title Page Or A Ship's Anchor On The Half-Title, Neither Of Which Is Present In This Copy, Making It The Second Issue]. Gilt Design And Lettering All Bright And Clear On Cover, Gilt Lettering On Spine Only Slightly Faded. Wear And Bumping For 1/8" Along Top And Bottom Of Spine, With Fraying At A Few Points, And Some Rubbing To Tips. August 4, 1924 Obituary Of Conrad Tipped Onto Ffep, And Photo From Newspaper Of His Funeral Laid In. Marks Where Paper Clip Fastened To Top Few Pages, And Some Browning Of Endpapers.
