Sobre este artículo

Dural, NSW : Rosenberg, 2006. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition. A4 (300 x 210mm approx.). Binding is tight, cover and spine fully intact Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting No foxing in this copy Edges all neat and clean Soft crease on bottom front cover and some slight rubbing he story of the passenger liners operated by the Chandris Group - a London-based maritime shipping company - is unique among the major shipping companies, in that the company grew steadily from within, rather than by merging or buying out other companies.

The growth of the Chandris group passenger services - from a single ship to a fleet operating everything from one-day cruises to three month round-the-world voyages - occurred in a short 18 years. The ships of the Chandris Line came from various sources. Some, such as the famous Australia, were originally built in US. Others, like the Kenya Castle - renamed Amerikanis - were built in the UK for the South African run.

This book is a cataloguing of the ships, their routes, and eventual destinations, presenting a fascinating picture of ocean liners and cruises during the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. The book contains photographs, brochures, cabin plans, and a layout of most ships. It gives a brief overview of the entire passenger operations of the Chandris companies. B & W and Colour photos
