A copy of 'Chantecler; Piece en Quatre Actes, en Vers' Edmond Eugène Alexis Rostand (1 April 1868 2 December 1918) was a French poet and dramatist. He is associated with neo-romanticism, and is best known for his play Cyrano de Bergerac. Rostand's romantic plays provided an alternative to the naturalistic theatre popular during the late nineteenth century. Includes a bookplate from the private library of one Lesley Lewis and bound in original paper wraps. In French. In a half morocco binding with marbled boards. Externally, very smart with some rubbing and wear to the spine and a mark to the front board. Internally, firmly bound and clean with some age toning. Very Good Indeed

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
