[viii], 55, [1] pp. Quarto (7-1/4" x 5-1/4"). Stab-stitched pamphlet bound in later three-quarter sheep over marbled boards, gilt fillets, title and date to spine. Light rubbing and minor fading to boards, moderate rubbing to extremities, spine ends and corners bumped and very lightly worn, later armorial bookplate (of John Newling) to front pastedown. Moderate toning to interior, light foxing and soiling in a few places, horizontal crease to title page, which has an early ownership signature ("Will. Boothby") and small mark at its head. $350. * Second and final edition, one of two issues, both in 1660, the year of the Restoration. This was an estimable, empirical effort to outline the sources of royal revenue, beginning with that of the Royal courts. First published in 1647, and based on the correct assumption that the monarchy would be restored, it suggested a basis for the revival of England's economy following the costs of the civil war. This copy was owned by the seventeenth-century antiquarian and book collector Sir William Boothby [bap.1367-1707].
