Very Good-: shows moderate wear to the outside edges; heavy sunning to the top edge of the front panel, the top edge of the rear panel and to the backstrip and along the rear hinge (the gilt titles at the upper front panel and at the backstrip are somewhat affected, but remain bold and clearly legible); mild overall rubbing; former owner's gift inscription at the front free endpaper and another later owner's name and date below it; a small, inked price at the front pastedown endpaper. The binding remains square and secure; the text is clean. Show moderate wear and a few flaws, but remains a sturdy, presentable copy with a clean text. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (9.5 x 6.5 x 1.35 inches). x, 306 pages. Twenty full-page black & white photographic plates. Purple cloth over boards with gilt designs and titles at the front panel and backstrip. The top edge may at one time have been gilt, but if so it is now quite dust-dulled. Weight: 2 pounds, 0.5 ounces. Hardback: Lacks DJ.
