Sobre este artículo

This First Edition copy of Charles Ricketts – Subtle and Fantastic Decorator, by Stephen Calloway, with a Foreword by Kenneth Clark was published in 1979 by Thames and Hudson of London and printed in Great Britain. The book, which measures approximately 8 inches wide by 11 inches tall by 0.25 inches thick, contains 100 pages of text and illustrations (133 illustrations, 6 in color) devoted to the works of Charles Ricketts. The book is soft bound in stiff paper covers with a color reproduction of a Ricketts' pencil and watercolor painting of "Costume design for Herodias in Salomé by Oscar Wilde" on the front and a biographical summary of Ricketts' life, by Oscar Wilde, on the rear. The book is in like new condition.

The illustrations accompanying this description show the book's front cover, a 2-page spread of the Title page and frontispiece (Charles Ricketts by Alphonse Legros, silverpoint drawing, 1895), and three (3) typical 2-page spreads of text and illustrations.

Charles de Sousy Ricketts (2 October 1866 – 7 October 1931) was a British artist, illustrator, author and printer, known for his work as a book designer and typographer and for his costume and scenery designs for plays and operas. [Wikipedia]

Sobre Pages For Sages

Pages For Sages has been in the business of buying and selling rare and used books, ephemera, and other unusual items for over forty years. We have long depended on book fairs, printed catalogs, auctions, and the like to support the business. Now, in our later years (ages 90 and 92) we are taking this step to display a catalog of inventory on the Biblio web site for your consideration. The number of our listings will grow as we continue the process of adding items from our inventory - please come back from time to time to find additional offerings.
