Sobre este artículo
Northampton: Printed at The Gehenna Press for The University of Massachusetts, 1966. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine. This is copy number 396 of 500. Thomas Bird Mosher (1852-1923) has been praised as an American Aldus, whose finely-printed and modestly priced editions "introduced Americans to 'the literature of rapture'" (William E. Fredeman). He was a major exponent of the British Pre-Raphaelites and Aesthetes as well as other British Victorians. This essential reference includes a biographical essay by Ray Nash. Quarto: 212 with an addenda. The type is Monotype Van Dijck, the paper Fabriano. The tipped-in facsimiles were printed from line engravings on Arches and on Shizuoka Vellum to simulate the papers used by Mosher. The three illustrations were reproduced by The Meriden Gravure Company in Meridan, Connecticut. The pressman was Harold McGrath. Original light blue paper-covered boards over a linen spine, with a printed paper spine label (a duplicate is tipped in at the rear. The spine is ever so slightly faded; else a fine copy. Housed in the publisher's slipcase.
