On April 26, 1986, the then unknown, Russian town of Chernobyl blazed into the world's psyche with the meltdown of its nuclear reactor. It caused a cloud of radiation that drifted over Europe, fear world wide and political paralysis of the Russian government. In this novel the author speculates what it was really like when the nuclear reactor melted, why it occurred and what are the possible long-term effects of the radiation leakage.
