Sobre este artículo

London: John Murray, 1929. Fine Binding. Near Fine. 9" by 5.5". None. This finely bound work tells the romance between the Chevalier de Boufflers and the Comtesse de Sabran during the French Revolution. Nesta Helen Webster (1876-1960) was an English conspiracy theorist remembered for her theories regarding the Illuminati in particular, whom she blamed for the French Revolution, 1848 Revolution and the First World War. She penned this volume after having read the letters of the Countess of Sabran, which led her to believe that she had been reincarnated from the soul of someone who lived during the French Revolution, and she followed this work with 'The French Revolution: A Study in Democracy'. She contributed to 'The Jewish Peril' and 'The Patriot', two anti semitic papers. In a Bumpus binding.Illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Le Chevalier de Boufflers (1738-1815). In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally very smart, fading to the spine as to be expected and a touch of rubbing to the head of the spine and joint. Ownership bookplate to the front endpaper. Internally, first three leaves including half titled page have been annotated but erased, firmly bound, pages otherwise bright and clean. Near Fine
