Scarce volume of children's poetry charmingly illustrated by Cecile Walton. A presentation copy, inscribed by the author behind title-page; 'Mr and Mrs Bond, with best wishes from Austin Priestman.' Distinctive gilt binding decoration, endpaper illustrations and black & white imagery throughout by Cecil Walton, whose principal work was a handsome volume of Hans Andersen's Fairy Tales some 13 years earlier. CONDITION: Minor edge-wear, spine a little skewed, illustrated endpapers starting at hinges but holding firm. Light foxing to first & last few leaves. Gilt slightly dulled. Collated complete. 96pp. 19.4cm tall. Housed in removable plastic sleeve. [Please let us know in advance if inspection on-site is required.]
