Association copy of Arthur C. Clarke's 1953 science fiction novel, Childhoods' End, inscribed to the Nobel laureate physicist, Dennis Gabor.


Dennis Gabor (1900 - 1979), the Hungarian-British electrical engineer and physicist, was awarded the 1971 Nobel Prize in Physics for inventing holography. Gabor was also an early futurist. His first examination on the subject, Inventing the Future was published in 1963.

Sinopsis

Arthur C. Clarke is considered to be the greatest science fiction writer of all time. He is an international treasure in many other ways: An article written by him in 1945 led to the invention of satellite technology. Books by Mr. Clarke--both fiction and nonfiction--have more than one hundred million copies in print worldwide. He lives in Sri Lanka.
