Sobre este artículo
xvii+551 pages. Octavo (8 1/2" x 5 3/4") bound in original publisher's beige cloth with black label lettered in gilt in original jacket. First edition. America was a product of immigration. From the first planting of Jamestown to our own., the efforts of men and women who crossed the ocean from the Old World cleared the forest, cultivated the earth, laid the railroads and manned the factories. Coming for the most part freely, by acts of their own individual choice, these people left behind settled communities and the life of habit and tradition to begin afresh with only the resources they carried with them. Condition: Jacket corners and spine extremities chipped, front head edge 1/4" hips, back wrapper slightly darkened, some closed tears in fold overs else a very good copy in like jacket.
