Beautifully illustrated collection of stories told in verse, "CHILDREN'S BALLADS From History and Folk Lore" by numerous authors. 1891 1st edition; D. Lothrop and Company; Boston. The book features 84 illustrations by various artists. There are 10 stories in all - please see the photos for the complete list of contents.
Condition:
Light soiling along the perimeter of the front cover and spine; cloth tears at the corners; the top and bottom edges of the spine are frayed/worn. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are in very good condition - mostly clean and white with only some random small, light stains/ink smudges; the upper-outer corner of the front end paper has been clipped; inscription dated 1891 in pen on front end paper.
