John Lane The Bodley Head. London. 1896. FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION. 8vo. (7.8 x 5.2 inches). Dated 1896 but actually published in 1895. WBeautifully illustrated with nearly 100 line drawings by Robinson. 16pp publishers catalogue at end, dated 1895. Finely bound in recent full dark green morocco, spine with five raised bands, the compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. All edges gilt. The publishers original decorative green cloth boards and spine, lettered and decorated in gilt, are bound in at rear. A lovely copy of this wonderful book.
