Sobre este artículo

Berkeley and Los Angeles: University of California Press, 1947. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Very Good+. Small 8vo. Pp. xv, 94. Frontis. Alpheus B. Thompson portrait daguerreotype. Foreword by Robert Glass Cleland. With notes, bibliography and index of persons. Red cloth, titles stamped in black on the spine and on the cover with Thompson brand illustration repeated on the title page in red. In the two color illustrated dust jacket with price $3.00 intact on both flaps: edges gently rubbed, spine color quite minimally sunned. A fascinating glimpse into the nascent Pacific Rim trade. From the blurb: Thompson was a Yankee sea captain and trader who married a Carrillo of Santa Barbara and was for many years an important figure in the new far-western land.

A well-preserved copy with dust jacket, normally quite rubbed, now preserved in a removable clear archival sleeve.
