Sobre este artículo

New York, NY Pageant Press, 1956. Hardcover First Edition (1956), so stated. First Edition (1956), so stated. Very Good in Very Good DJ: The Book shows just a touch of wear to extremities with a touch of crimp to the heel of the backstrip; one page in the endnotes shows a check mark and a couple of words underlined in ink; the binding leans ever so slightly, but remains secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and minor, unobtrusive imperfections. The DJ shows a small spot of wear to the top of the front hinge; mild rubbing to the panels; faint sunning to the brown 'band' at the midpoint of the backstrip (the black and white titles thereon remain bold and clearly legible); the price has been clipped; mylar-protected. Little wear otherwise; remains attractive. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 8vo. (9.25 x 6.35 x 1.15 inches). 385 pages. Notes. Index. Illustrated with duotone drawings by Peter Whitebird, Chippewa. Language: English. Weight: 27.5 ounces. Hardback with DJ. The Chippewa, also know by the names Ojibwe, Ojibwa, or Saulteaux are an Anishinaabe people in what is currently southern Canada, the northern Midwestern United States, and Northern Plains. The Ojibwe language is Anishinaabemowin, a branch of the Algonquian language family. They are part of the Council of Three Fires (which also include the Odawa and Potawatomi) and of the larger Anishinaabeg, which also include Algonquin, Nipissing, and Oji-Cree people. Historically, through the Saulteaux branch, they were a part of the Iron Confederacy with the Cree, Assiniboine, and Metis. The Ojibwe are known for their birchbark canoes, birchbark scrolls, mining and trade in copper, as well as their cultivation of wild rice and maple syrup. Their Midewiwin Society is well respected as the keeper of detailed and complex scrolls of events, oral history, songs, maps, memories, stories, geometry, and mathematics.
