NY: C.A. Alvord, 1860. First. Cloth. Very Good. First edition. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR TO CAPTAIN JOSEPH COMSTOCK ON THE FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. Blindstamped pebbled dark green cloth lettered in gilt, all edges gilt, 35 pps. with illustrated title page and vignettes in the text. Prose sketch of early 19th century ew York at Christmastime which first appeared in "The New World" periodical some 14 years earlier. A tight copy with gilt lettering still bright with a couple of letters a little tarnished. There are two stains from some spilled ink along the inner and bottom edges of the front cloth; some wear to the haed and foot of the spine. Quite a scarce little volume with only one copy located in U.S. libraries or institutions.
