In addition to his cartoon work he illustrated more than 20 books, including the humorous Zebra Derby by Max Shulman and Milton Berle's Out of my Trunk.<br /> <br /> H[enry] L[ouis] Mencken (1880 - 1956) was an American journalist, essayist, satirist, cultural critic, and scholar of American English. He commented widely on the social scene, literature, music, prominent politicians, and contemporary movements. <br /> <br /> Remarkably well preserved and charming title for Christmas by the curmudgeonly (sometimes humorous) verbally versatile Mencken. No previous owner markings. Bright, clean colored plates.
