Symonds provides a biography and overview of Marlowe's stageworks. Four plays: Tamerlaine (Parts I and II), Doctor Faustus, The Jew of Malta and Edward the Second. Red soft full-leather binding with gilt titles to the spine. Top page edge gilt, with red marbled pastedowns and endpapers, prev owner's label on front pastedown. With sepia frontispiece of The Birthplace of Marlowe. Condition very good, leather on spine slightly worn, else fine, contents very clean.
