The majority of the book is arranged in four columns, with reproductions of black-and-white, and colour photography, art work, and manuscripts. Bright red coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. chronological history of the 20th century up to 1989. Softening of the back strip edges accompanied by some rubbing. Minor rubbing of the book corners with tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. Browning of the paper edges. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with 1/2 inch tear to the top right hand corner of the front panel, a similar size tear to the right hand edge of the back strip and a larger tear to the top left hand corner of the rear panel.
