Paris: Librairie Du Commerce, 1825. hard cover, leather-backed paper-covered boards with leather corners. gilt decorative spine with black title-label. top board detached, with back board almost fully detached. 1 1/2" of leather missing from top of spine, smaller loss at bottom. cover has interesting old bookplate with rampant lions and a name. remnants of old tape used to keep cover board on. only sparse and faint foxing. several minor creases or small perforation to margin. paper sheets in very good condition, turning easily. aside from boards detaching, binding is very sturdy.; french text. viij-422pp., frontispiece engraving of guillaume le conquerant.; scarce in the original.. First French Edition. Hard Cover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
