The text is illustrated with both colour and black-and-white drawings by May Gibbs. Green coloured boards with white coloured titles to the back strip. Two adventurous little Gumnuts, Chucklebud and Wunkydoo, set off to find the wisest bird in the bush – Mr Wackasmack (a kookaburra), and, so their adventures begin. First published in 1924. Rubbing of the book corners and back strip corners. Very light age toning of the text block edges. Creasing of the dustwrapper edges and there are various tears present, ranging in size up to 2 inches. Rubbing of the panels with fading of the back strip. Second Edition. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall.
