Sobre este artículo
n.p.: n.p;, 1843. Paperback. Good. 12p. Disbound. 18 cm. Ink spots on front and back pages. Vertical crease. Outer pages inkspotted. No separate title-page or wrapper. Signed in type at end: F. Mason and C. Bennett [at] Tavoy, December, 1843. Tavoy (now Dawei), a port city in Myanmar, lies along the northern side of the Dawei River estuary and is the capital of the Tanintharyi Region. Online information suggests that C. Bennett, was Cephus Bennett who, perhaps beginning later than 1843, was the printer in charge of the Karen Mission Press at Tavoy. Wikipedia has an entry for a Francis Mason who was an American Baptist missionary in Burma and translated the Bible into the two main dialects (Sgaw and Pwo) of the Karen people and some individual books of the Bible into a third dialect (Bghai). This "circular" was aimed at American supporters of missionary efforts and sought support for at least six more teachers in Burma, including two for Tavoy. Printed statement at bottom of page 12: Half-sheet....Annually. We don't know whether this is a stand alone pamphlet or was extracted from a periodical but the pagination makes the former seem likely.
