Transcription of a lecture on public health issues in 1848. Particular attention is paid to warming and ventilating rooms with recommendation to employ pipes in heating rather than open fireplaces, common sewers and their effect on "ventilaiton of towns" and drainage of buildings, effects on water supply and subsequent disease.
