Sobre este artículo

Stanley Paul & Co, London, 1927. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Preface by W. L. Courtney (English author, philosopher and journalist;) From author’s foreword: "These 'Recollections' are not an autobiography. To some extent they take that form, but, for the most part, they concern only that part of my career which had to do with the City of London. Fleet Street, of course, is an important part of the City, but I have not here treated it as the centre of the world at large, as I came to regard it, particularly when sent on far distant missions. My method has not been to deal with events chronologically, but dates are given as a guide. The "Recollections" are by no means exhaustive. Designedly, although 1 have included certain criminal trials at the original Old Bailey and, incidentally, with criminal matters which had special interest to the City, I have reserved for another occasion the story of the Press-detective work on which I have been engaged for fully forty-five years. Indeed, there has been no crime of the first rank which has not occupied me, either in personal investigations, or in that of others pursuing their inquiries under my direction." Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 302 pages. Gilt titles spine. Front inner hinge starting. red cloth; illustrated by b/w. drawings, facsimiles & photo's.. Includes index. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Communications & Media; Journalism; Memoirs; Newspapers; Biography & Autobiography. Inventory No: 4869. .
