The first 90 pages comprise an overview of educational provision in Essex, thereafter there is a district by district analysis of schools. This covers pupil numbers, results, salaries, courses taught, employment when leaving school and much else. Quite a few paragraphs have lines drawn beside them ion th emargins. ""Essex Education Committee Presentation copy"" label to front pastedown. Two pages loose. Endpapers browned. Lacks half inch of cloth to top of spine. Boards are a fairly uniform colour but probably much faded from their original state. A G only copy of an interesting title.
