Sobre este artículo

Philadelphia: MacRae-Smith,. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1931. First Edition. Hardcover. Civil War; Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; xii and 412 pages; 1/200 copies, this copy unnumbered. 8vo, publisher's original navy cloth, gilt lettering, T. E. G. , untrimmed, few b/w photo plates. Covers quite good, gilt bright, text very clean, a very few pages roughly opened. Dornbusch I, page 89. Colton was in the 15th Pennsylvania cavalry; captured in Kentucky in late 1862, he was imprisoned in Richmond (Libby Prison? ) for a month before being exchanged. He returned to his unit and saw action until 1865. Colton had a solid education before his military service, and his correspondence is uncommonly rich, extensive, and exceptionally literate. Strangely enough WorldCat only locates a single copy of this book. The rest must be buried in Civil War collector's libraries. .
