A biography of Clara Novello, acclaimed soprano daughter of Vincent Novello, known as one of the greatest vocalists in all fields: opera, oratorio, and concert stage in the nineteenth century. Written by Averil Mackenzie-Grieve. In a lovely half crushed morocco binding signed Sangorski and Sutcliffe. Complete with half title. Illustrated with a frontispiece and other black and white plates. In a charming half crushed morocco binding signed Sangorski and Sutcliffe over cloth covered boards, with five raised bands and gilt to the top edge and pictorial endpapers. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only, minor damp marking to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Odd light spotting to the first few leaves, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with a frontispiece and other black and white plates. Very Good Indeed

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
