Carbon copy of interesting letter from book's owner to publisher laid in. Signed and dated by Banning on ffep. Green cloth binding, 275 pp. The story of two women -- one who works in the business world, the other, who is more focused on men. Culkin was a best-selling author and early advocate of women's rights. Her first literary works were short stories and essays published in magazines. First novel, This Marrying, published in 1920. Her last, Such Interesting People, published in 1979. Authored thirty-six novels and more than four hundred essays and short stories, usually concerned with problems of youth, women, and social change. Member of the British Information Service in World War II. Following World War II she worked in refugee and displaced persons camps in Austria and Germany. The boards have been scraped, primarily in the rear, where there are a number of unsightly marks. Dustjacket is in poor condition, lacking material at spine, pieced together with archival tape and protected with a fresh mylar cover. A structurally sound book with a clean, solid interior.
