Sobre este artículo

Copyrighted by Mary U Glazener, 1966. Hardcover. Very good. 43 pages on 43 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11" paper, inserted in modern green folder (3-hole punched). UNPUBLISHED provincial play by the author of "The Cup of Wrath: The Story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer's Resistance to Hitler" (1992/3) which received some critical attention. According to "History in Literature: A Reader's Guide to 20th Century History and the Literature It Inspired," Glazener "tells a straightforward, meticulously researched story, devoid of stylistic flourishes, allowing the story to tell itself." ¶ The copyright for this play appears in the Library of Congress "Catalog of Copyright Entries 3D Ser Vol 20 Pts 3-4" p. 103 ("Dramas and Works Prepared for Oral Delivery" January-June, 1966). The work was received on August 9, 1966 (no publisher given). Another dramatic works by Glazener received copyright in the same year: "The Slave Girl: A Play in Three Acts" (Nashville, Broadman Press). To this we add "The stumbling block; a religious drama in three acts" (Nashville, Broadman Press, 1961).

¶ Mary U(nderwood) Glazener was born in Atlanta in 1921, the daughter of John LaFayette (a minister) and Eunice (Upshaw) Underwood. She married O. W. Glazener (a warehouse superintendent) in 1944; together they had three children (Janet Olivia, Charles Upshaw, Vivian Joy). She attended Mars Hill College and Brevard College, and graduated from Clemson University with a B.A. She resided in both South and North Carolina.
