Lomdon: R Ware, C Hitch, J Hodges, 1745 A very good copy in large contemporary full leather binding with frontispiece portrait of Edward Cocker. This copy is the revised edition 'carefully corrected and amended' by George Fisher in 1677. The binding has contemporary boards with a newer spine with gilt lines and title label. There is some scuffing and wear to the boards. Internally there is a pencil note to the front pastedown endpaper and a loose note at the rear by William Ridler, a bookseller in London circa 1877 - 1904. Contents: advert with portrait to verso; title; to the Reader (verso of title); Edward Cocker's Proem 2pp; note to the Reader 1677; table of contents; text pp 1-183 with advert at the rear. There is some mispagination: pp 69-71-70; and 160-163-162-163 - both with continuous text. At the end, some of the pages are out of order with the wrong page printed to the verso of a couple of leaves. The page order for continous text is: 182-181-183-un-numbered verso of 182. The contents are lightly toned but are in very good clean condition.
