First edition, first impression, second issue, published later the same year in 1958 in the blue binding lettered in gilt, rather than the red binding lettered in black. This copy has a £1.50 overprice sticker, now loosely inserted, from the publisher's successor Barrie & Jenkins. Octavo. Original blue boards, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Small bump to upper corners, contents clean. A near-fine copy in very good dust jacket, unclipped, residue on front flap from overprice sticker, sometime removed and loosely inserted, a little rubbing, couple of nicks and shallow chips, remains bright. McIlvaine A81a.
