Sobre este artículo
Dial Press Trade Paperback. Good. 1986. Paperback. 038531258X . Cold Sassy; Vol. 1; 15 oz.; 391 pages; PB some reading/spine wear aged good clean/tight reading copy. Book 1 Cold Sassy. If the preacher's wife's petticoat showed, the ladies would make the talk last a week. But on July 5, 1906, things took a scandalous turn. That was the day E. Rucker Blakeslee, proprietor of the general store and barely three weeks a widower, eloped with Miss Love Simpsona woman half his age and, worse yet, a Yankee! On that day, fourteen-year-old Will Tweedy's adventures began and an unimpeachably pious, deliciously irreverent town came to life. Not since To Kill A Mockingbird has a novel so deftly captured the subtle crosscurrents of small-town Southern life. Olive Ann Burns classic bestseller brings to vivid life an era that will never exist again, exploring timeless issues of love, death, coming of age, and the ties that bind families and generations. .

Reseñas
El Jan 18 2016, un lector dijo:
"Cold Sassy Tree" has a beauty in it that's truly endearing and moving. It is honest, heartfelt, witty, funny, and mostly nostalgic (for me at least). It takes place in small town Cold Sassy Tree where a scandal turns the lives of Will Tweedy, the narrator, and his family upside-down. As you follow his adventures and hear his take of happenings in his family and around town, you'll find yourself drawn to his stories like how some might find themselves drawn to a lava lamp. The story can be slow moving but it is worth your while. The best way I can describe my feelings toward reading Cold Sassy Tree is by envisioning how it would feel like if I had ever met my grandma and how she and I would sit in a quiet living room while I would listen to her tell stories of her childhood. If that is your cup of tea then you will enjoy Cold Sassy Tree.
