Over some twenty-odd years Dr. Weil offered for public sale more than 8500 significant works in science and medicine, including early printed works and manuscripts. He was also one of the first antiquarian booksellers to take the history of photography as a specialty. The fact that Dr. Weil compiled his catalogues over a very long period has always made it difficult to gather a complete set of them.
