Photograph portrait of Brooke as frontispiece who was often referred to as "the handsomest man in England." Poems span his early period before World War I and those written during his time in the trenches. There is a biographical note by Margaret Lavington at the rear of the book. Includes hi famous poem, Soldier, "If I should die, think only this of me: That there's some corner of a foreign field, That is forever England. "
