London: Country Life Ltd, 1925. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. 9" by 6". Not Stated. A smart sixth edition of this delightful gardening guide, with the vanishingly scarce unclipped dust wrapper. Sixth edition. With the vanishingly scarce original unclipped dust wrapper. Illustrated with a colour frontispiece and one hundred and twenty-six black-and-white plates, six of which are folding. Collated complete. A detailed guide to planning a colour scheme for your flower garden, with commentary on the changing colours of the seasons, the hardy flower border, bedding plants, and more. Written by Gertrude Jekyll, a British horticulturist, garden designer, craftswoman, photographer, writer and artist who created over four hundred gardens in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor fading to the extremities. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also smart with light shelf wear and minor chipping resulting in light loss to the head and tail of the spine. Sunning to the spine and the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good
