First separate edition, sometimes referred to as first one-volume edition, too, 1846, small 8vo, bound in crushed black calf with handsome gilt spine, dark red labels, upper board has the original cloth cover mounted with a gilt rule, very good, engraved frontispiece, pictorial title page printed in red, xii, 252 pp, original spine mounted at rear, has half title. Contents very good, as is the binding, front joint shows a bit of strain. Cohn 1.
