Bradbury, Agnew & Co., London: undated Ca. 1880. Green cloth binding with gilt decoration and title. Illustrated with twenty full page hand colored plates with original tissue guards and two hundred woodcuts by John Leech. Title pages printed in red and black with a comic drawing of Clio instructing the Young British Lion in history. All edges gilt. Slight lean to the spine, but unmarked. An antiquarian book in excellent condition with terrific engraved plate illustrations reminiscent of John Tenniel (Alice in Wonderland et al.)
