A SUPERB PRESENTATION COPY, signed and inscribed by author to noted author Denise Levertov, who provided a long and positive blurb to the rear jacket cover (the only one used on the book): 'For Denise, with many thanks for the kind words which may help my book survive. John Balaban.' The author's first book, a novel set in Southeast Asia after the Vietnam War ended. Levertov herself wrote extensively on themes related to Vietnam. 8vo. - over 7 3/4 in. - 9 3/4 in. 240pp., bound in quarter black cloth over black boards with light blue titles on the spine. A Very Good copy with minor discoloration to the top and fore-edge of the pages. The dust jacket has light wear, else Very Good.
