London, Printed by W. Bowyer for W. Churchill, at the Black Swan, 1717 10th. Hardback, 8 x 5 inches. Polished calf leather boards with gilt line edging. Later spine with decorative raised banding and gilt title lettering. In very good condition. Boards darkened, edges rubbed/bumped and corners chipped. Spine professionally repaired/rebacked with later leather to spine. Later endpapers, considerately bound at front to show original inscription on front board; “Susanna Hatley, now the Wife of Sheppard Frere.” Edges of endpapers darkened. Main frontis plate darkened and foxed with small chip to corner, foxing to main title page. Some minor foxing and handling marks to pages else overall pages clean and bright, binding tight and sound. Second plate has some darkening around edges but free of foxing. Else a very good clean and tight copy. 22pp Preface + 430 to 636pp (2 parts: Festivals & Fasts) + Index. Illustrated with TWO B&W engraved frontis plates.
