Further communiques from the celestial dictaphone of Arthur Ford who, if you remember, told Ruth Montgomery all about life up there in A World Beyond. Now the word has it that this Ruth was once an earlier Ruth, the sister of Lazarus, and the first half of the book returns to Biblical times for "information. . .not recorded in the New Testament" presenting her life then and her acquaintance with Mother Mary (Jesus' -- it seems he chided his mother on occasion) and Lazarus' first death before he was raised when he reported about the other side where he had just seen Arthur Ford. Small world, isn't it? The second half of the book deals with some of her other incarnations the most interesting of which is when she appears as Elizabeth Barrett Browning. And probably the most startling fact is that Ruth, this here and present Ruth, was "convinced of reincarnation"" by Louis Nizer via his Implosion Conspiracy. Good companions along the way and you can never tell whom you'll meet -- Adelle Dayis, Barry Goldwater or Savanarola. All best sellmate-soulmate stuff.
