My Sister Life was written in the summer before the 1917 October Revolution, it was very well received and established him as a genius of Russian poetry. The English translation was done by Mark Rudman. The acclaimed Russian born artist, Yuro Kuyper provides 6 etchings for the publication, printed on Hannemule paper in Paris. The paper used for the text was hand-made by H. M. P. Mill in Connecticut to resemble the sort of stock produced in 1920's Russia, even incorporating bits of Russain newspapers with rags and cotton pulp. The book is in near fine condition, with the only defect being some sunning to the spinea. The slipcase in VG or better, showing some sunning. The book is signed by Yuri Kuyper and this copy is #212 of 250. The original LEC invoice for $4000 laid in; Etching; Folio 13" - 23" tall; Signed by Illustrator .

Fantastic, larger size mat with an original photo of him, signed by him, mounted on a larger black mat to a total size of 10 x 13.1 inches. The actual photograph is 5.7 x 6.9 inches, blind-stamped (metal stamp with no ink) on the front by photographer C. Mea, with text in both Chinese and Western characters.
Background rust quite evenly distributed, in very good condition.

Old blanks are gone, this has new blanks. Only interior markings are pencilled numbers on back of title page. Some foxing in text, heavier in maps. Many pages uncut. 17 unpaginated maps and one plate of vocabulary. Set is a compilation of journals and texts from every major European voyage of discovery from antiquity to 1800. Kerr is not so much an author as an editor. Wherever possible he reproduced the original texts and journals. He edited them to reduce redundancy but maintain fidelity to the original text. His first volume shows the trouble he went to. He has rendered into English 9th century Icelandic texts then proceeds on to 9th and 10th century Anglo-Saxon texts. 1804 1st print Thornhill Shooting Directory HUNTING Color Illustrated Sport Guns

Richard Thornhill's 'Shooting Directory' is one of, if not the best early 19th-century shooting and hunting manual. This incredible folio hunting guide is a collection of discussions on hunting dogs, firearms and gunpowder, shooting styles, and of course descriptions of game animals. While hunting books have always been popular amongst sportsmen, this particular book is known to have more draw than most because of its exquisite full-page, color engravings!

This incredibly rare and valuable true first printing includes pages 214-220 which were suppressed from later editions. These pages highly criticized the hunting ability and shooting techniques of King George III. It is certainly because of these claims that, following the publication of this book, Thornhill moved from England to live full-time in Paris.
