This book by Fox-Davies (an opinionated but diligent man who drank himself to an early death) is still considered to be the standard reference book on English heraldry. It was originally published in 1909 and repeatedly enlarged upon. This is a 1950 reprint. The frontispage has a gifting label to the Fish Hoek Library. The decorated cover is attractive and healthy. It has some light age related wear. The papertrims are rough cut. Inside, the contents are freckled with foxing throughout. There is occasional underlining.
