Sobre este artículo

Winthrop Ames Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company, 1900. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. See photos for condition details. Hardcover, privately bound program from what appears to be the 1900 version of the play. With the description on the front end page stating this was created for a theater party by Dr. and Mrs. E N Clapper, March 21, 1928, at the Alumni Theater of Pittsburgh. There is no publication date listed (ca. 1900) though it can be determined by the portion near the end of the play where the exchange between the General, Police, King and girls regarding the nobleman was deleted and the phrase "We charge you yield, and Queen Victoria's name!" is present. This was changed to read "in good King Edward's name" for the 1908 production. The bound softcover program is complete, including both the front and rear cover. There is no other handwriting other than what is on the front end page. There was also a bookplate on the front pastedown from Charles Wayne Collins with the Latin phrase "Cogitat Ergo Sum" present. The exterior boards show quite a bit of edge wear, particularly on the top of the front and outside corners. The interior binding is good no issues other than some smudge marks and toning. There is a very slight soft vertical fold from where the program was still in the softcover state. The exterior grades below good condition but the interior makes up for it as program itself grades as VG.

Yesterday's Book Shop (Member IOBA)

Purchases will ship by US Media Mail or Priority Mail (if buyer selects) and higher priced items may have insured placed on the order and will typically ship within one business day. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 5 lbs., but only in unusual cases. Insurance is available upon request though we normally place insurance on any item of $75 or higher at no additional cost to the buyer. Non-US sales will ship by First Class International or Global Priority. Additional postage may be required for multiple volume books or books weighing over 4 lbs.

We always take extra care in packaging and shipping. Books are typically wrapped in packing paper or bubblewrap before packaged in a sturdt shipping box. All orders, even those shipped by US Media Mail, will be given a USPS tracking number which will be sent to the buyer so they will know when to expect arrival. Please let us know if there is a book with incorrect or missing photos. We recently moved the inventory to Biblio and a title or two may have had issues with the photos being transferred over.

Yesterday's Book shop is owned and operated by a disabled veteran. Due to my limitations, I often have to rely on speech-to-text software to list the books. If the description has typos ("and pages" instead of "end pages", pace downs instead of pastedowns, guilt instead of gilt, etc,) PLEASE let me know so I can correct the listing. The software spells words by phonetics and can make errors that I may not catch.

There is a 30 day money back guarantee if the book arrives damaged or is not as described. Please contact us prior if you have any issues with your purchases and we will make sure you are taken care of.

Sobre Yesterday's Book Shop (Member IOBA)

Yesterday's Book Shop is an independent, family-owned establishment. The store first opened in 1966 under the name Collector's Corner and was located in Western Maryland. The Collector's Corner dealt mainly in books but also sold stamps and assorted ephemera. In 1975 the name was changed to Yesterday's Book Shop when the store only offered books and printed matter. In the early 2000s the brick and mortar store was closed and now we only sell online.

All of the book pictures were taken at the time the book was listed and we never use generic or stock photos in any listing. If you would like additional photos or information on any listing please let us know and we will be more than happy to comply.
