The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Original blue cloth with a hint of pushing at the spine ends. Gilt decoration remains bright. Top edge gilt. The book has the number 'IX' on the table of contents page. Free from inscriptions and erasures. A little offsetting to the end papers. The First Issue WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. Some toning to the spine and minor rubbing to the corners. Mild edge-wear at the spine ends. A 3 cm closed tear to the rear lower spine fold and a 2cm closed tear to the lower front flap fold. Mild age related markings. A superior example of a scarce correct first issue wrapper.
