Sobre este artículo

London: Virtue & Co., [1842]. Cloth. Very Good. 10" by 7". W.H. Bartlett; T. Allom. The complete works of Robert Burns, with thirty illustrations and a biographical introduction. An illustrated copy of the complete works of Scottish poet Robert Burns, including his poems, songs, and letters. With thirty plates, collated and complete. Allan Cunningham provides a biographical introduction to the poet, along with useful critical notes. Interestingly, Cunningham's father was a friend and neighbour of Burns. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, 'Anne Thothcock', dated July 1859. With seven pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. Undated. According to JISC and WorldCat, editions of this work were printed in 1842, and potentially another in 1886. The date of the ink inscription suggests that this copy is an 1842 edition. In the publisher's original green cloth binding with the Burns coat of arms in gilt to the front board. Externally, generally smart. Lightly rubbed to the boards, with some white marks to the rear board. The spine is discoloured, and is a little bumped to the head and the tail. The extremities are also lightly bumped. The front and rear hinges are starting, but firm. Internally, generally firmly bound, although the gutter is visible at pages 24 to 25, 48 to 49 and 96 to 97. Pages are generally bright and clean with the odd patch of light foxing. Very Good
